Here's an interesting article by Nelson Pass with some graphs of speaker wire test comparisons.

I wonder how heavier gauge (12 ga.) wire would have done.   Huh

You may wish to actually READ the article before making comments, Nit. (thanks again Hotsauce).

The Monster cable tested is 11.5 gauge and although Pass doesn't tell us the gauge of the Fulton wire, we might infer that it's even larger by his description in the article.

Perhaps you didn’t get my point.  Notice much cheaper zipcord tested is lighter (18) gauge and not something more comparable to higher priced Monster cable.  That’s to build it up to the conclusion which states, “If, like many audiophiles, you spent a small (or large) fortune on your hi-fi system, money spent for high quality cables and connectors is a reasonable investment.”

You may wish to actually think about what you read, Karl.

So then, Nit,

You would prefer cables of similar price to have been compared, or would you say, similar gauge thickness? (instead of cables of disparate price, such as the 18g/CHEAP vs the Monster/EXPENSIVE)?

Don't forget this article is from 1980, btw....

I thought I made it clear. Huh

In case you prefer it clearer, 12 ga. zipcord vs. Monster cable (11.5 ga.) comparison was not done unfortunately.

Suppose you are to choose from 2 sets of speaker cables of identical performance but the price difference of 10 folds, you would choose more expensive one?

And your point is?
