speaker cabinet tweek
Mar 4th, 2009, 2:45am

Well I have been having fun pulling out about 2 feet of stuffing from my used 2 way speakers and have glued to all the interior walls, back, sides, and top side underneath all with Deflex Panels except for the last 7 inches which I cannot reach unless I tear apart the cabinets.
So I would say a good 80 percent is totally covered in Deflex and the sound quality improvment is very vast.Timming ques are great, dynamic range is maybe 2 to 3 db higher although I cannot confirm that on scopes.Bass response is much tighter, tune full and deeper with power. The midband is much more articulate and at the same time a rich fullness is imparted. More like hearing on vocals  a real person singing in your living room with you ot just  a reprodution of sound waves electronically.
I also had two Deflex pads left over from my Parker 95 Signature project so I made 1 foot feet out of them and placed them under my 84C Amp and my Toshiba DVD Player which I am using for a front end until I can upgrade and this really helped the music ride on cusions of air, and it imparted the dvd player with a wonderful bloom in the midband.
Well I just wanted to pass this on and was wondering if anyone else has experimented with the Deflex before and have u had such a huge improvement as I have had.

Deflex is great stuff! I've used it sionce about 1994 when we forst used it in car audio. Where do you get yours? Michael Percy? Let me know what pattern is on yours and where you get it and what size sheets etc. Thanks in advance.
