Hi Randy,

Is your Type Ten amp still somewhere in your 'pile-o-gear' ? I am curious of your long term feelings of that low wattage amp with the Parker Trolls.

I know you sold off your ZCD, what are you using for digital now?

Currently, I am trying the new Eastern Electric DAC that uses the SABRE32 chip and has a true tube output. Of course it now sports Light Dependent Resistors for volume control. I call it the "Light Sabre DAC"  Cool

Howdy Buzz,

As you can see from my updated equipment list, the Type 10 is very much in the "stable" .....  Cool

Per our recent telephone discussion, the Type 10 has no problem at all driving the Parker Audio Trolls.  It is clean beyond belief and very honest and revealing of what is being fed into it.  With about 15 to 20 % of my CD collection (primarily the Stockfisch stuff) it sounds fabulous.  With the rest ..... well, lets just say that it has no problem revealing the "warts" that are inherent to most commercial CDs ..... despite the fact that my digital front end is very "civilized".  I have made no secret of the fact that I think most recording engineers that produce CDs are pretty clueless.  IMHO, any recording engineer that plans on using the CD format should be required to spend a month or more with Günter Pauler at Stockfisch to learn how to make musical sounding shiny plastic disks .....  Grin

Since we both know how good the Type 10 amp sounds with vinyl, I have decided that this amplifier is really a sinister plot devised by you to force me to buy another turntable .....  Wink

As to the "Light Sabre DAC" ..... I love the name ..... good stuff   Smiley

Best wishes,

Randy

Hallo if you don't mind party crasher. Say only happened upon your discussion in the middle and don't have an idea what the subject entails then new to the site. Happy someone likes talking out problems. Mine have been solved. Saved some component stereo equipment from the rack at the pawn shop. Needed a couple of quick tips in the cable hook-ups. Hope to read many more postings on the website. Bye

I thought I saw that you had a Push-Pull 300B in there Randy, but when I zoomed in I decided it was a tube rack where you keep your spares.  Cool
